Last Minute Mother’s Day gift ideas.

“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” —Abraham Lincoln

Mother’s Day is the special time of year when you get to celebrate your first best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice. Mother’s Day is also a great time to show your love for all the other wonderful women in your life. If you’re looking for a way to show your mother, grandmothers, sisters, aunts and friends how special you think they are, these lovely gift ideas for mothers day are just what you need.

  1. Perfume. Mothers have a special scent. They smell like comfort, reassurance and tenderness. The scent of mothers and their babies help them bond and although scent is not the strongest sense of mammals of our kind, they can recognize each other by their scent only a short while after the baby is born. We all have that so recognizable scent that remind us about our favorite person. I would recommend to use the Sephora website to order perfume, your mom will receive her gift perfectly wrapped in only 3 days!
  2. Special time together. There are plenty of ways you can squeeze face time into your busy schedule, but your mom will probably appreciate if you set aside a whole day to spend together on this special day. Take the day off from work or any other day-to-day obligations you might otherwise be doing. Take her to Brunch and after treat your mom with a spa day, or recreate the experience at home. Whether it’s a massage, a facial treatment, or a manicure/pedicure, your mom will love getting pampered with you.
  3. Beauty or Hair tools. Your mom is a women with the same dreams and needs as any other woman. She deserves to get something she always wanted so she can feel all our love and attention. What could be better than luxury hair tools by T3 Micro! You can find gifts ranging from hair dryers and curling irons to shower heads! With T3 Micro your gift will be unique, thoughtful and luxurious!
  4. Don’t forget your card. Tell mom how important she is with words—specifically iconic quotes that remind her how important moms are to everyone. Need help finding the perfect words? Don’t worry Hallmark has everything ready for you, just find the perfect one describing your feelings!
  1. Flowers. Never ever forget about flowers for your mother. It shouldn’t be the biggest and most expensive arrangement, you can get one rose and tell her how much she means to you.

Happy Mothers day!!!

Can moving make you happier?

I was always curious as to what others think about this issue. There are many people out there who become sick and tired of living in the same place for years and years, and eventually decide that they want to move to become happier, as if it will solve their problems for good.

With parts of the United States approaching record snowfall this season, there are probably thousands of people at this very second questioning whether the bad weather is making them miserable. At first glance, it certainly seems like terrible weather should have a significant impact on emotional wellbeing. After all, who wants to freeze their toes off, shovel their car out from under the snow, and be stuck indoors for days on end? So, I ask, does moving to a new place usually solve one’s problems and make them happier?

From my experience, the answer is yes. I was born in Russia, and since my childhood, I knew that I did’t belong there. Don’t get me wrong, I love the country where I was born and grew up. I’m thankful for all opportunities that it gave me, but sometimes you just don’t feel 100% happy. So after I moved to Chicago my happiness level increased but only for a short amount of time.

When I moved from Chicago to Florida, I knew I’d miss a lot of things about living on the Midwest. After all, I was leaving behind my friends, good memories, and my beloved city life. But if there was one part of leaving Chicago that I was most excited about, it was definitely the change in weather. You see, I’m not what you’d call a “winter person.” So when the time came to leave the snow and ice behind and settle in under some palm trees along the beach, it seemed like an easy trade to make.

The place where you are living doesn’t make us happy, but it helps when you move to a sunny, healthy, developing and clean place. Staying in the same space without change creates boredom and boredom is the beginning of all problems. Staying active and involved in the community and being open to other cultures helps with happiness levels. Moving to a new place away from a place that reminds you of bad experiences helps a lot. Change is the essence of life, look at yourself in the mirror and you will see life change everyday. Never forget, wherever you will go you will take yourself with you. Don’t move to run away from your problems, solve them first and start from the beginning! Good luck! xoxo

The table decor was designed and decorated by me and hope everyone enjoyed the detail and time it took to make each hand crafted piece that was on display.

Tavern on Rush was also generous enough to provide a full brunch and bar menu for our enjoyment.  The drink of the day was mimosas because nothing says brunch like a little OJ and champagne.  The tuna tartare was a big hit and a personal favorite.  All the dishes prepared were delightful.  The man dish that I choose was the crab cake benedict and the meal was simply delightful and the best brunch entree I’ve ever had.
