Can moving make you happier?

I was always curious as to what others think about this issue. There are many people out there who become sick and tired of living in the same place for years and years, and eventually decide that they want to move to become happier, as if it will solve their problems for good.

With parts of the United States approaching record snowfall this season, there are probably thousands of people at this very second questioning whether the bad weather is making them miserable. At first glance, it certainly seems like terrible weather should have a significant impact on emotional wellbeing. After all, who wants to freeze their toes off, shovel their car out from under the snow, and be stuck indoors for days on end? So, I ask, does moving to a new place usually solve one’s problems and make them happier?

From my experience, the answer is yes. I was born in Russia, and since my childhood, I knew that I did’t belong there. Don’t get me wrong, I love the country where I was born and grew up. I’m thankful for all opportunities that it gave me, but sometimes you just don’t feel 100% happy. So after I moved to Chicago my happiness level increased but only for a short amount of time.

When I moved from Chicago to Florida, I knew I’d miss a lot of things about living on the Midwest. After all, I was leaving behind my friends, good memories, and my beloved city life. But if there was one part of leaving Chicago that I was most excited about, it was definitely the change in weather. You see, I’m not what you’d call a “winter person.” So when the time came to leave the snow and ice behind and settle in under some palm trees along the beach, it seemed like an easy trade to make.

The place where you are living doesn’t make us happy, but it helps when you move to a sunny, healthy, developing and clean place. Staying in the same space without change creates boredom and boredom is the beginning of all problems. Staying active and involved in the community and being open to other cultures helps with happiness levels. Moving to a new place away from a place that reminds you of bad experiences helps a lot. Change is the essence of life, look at yourself in the mirror and you will see life change everyday. Never forget, wherever you will go you will take yourself with you. Don’t move to run away from your problems, solve them first and start from the beginning! Good luck! xoxo

Writer’s block

Hey everyone, I am back from my vacation or as most people would call it, writer’s block, but I didn’t have my creative juices at 100% so I needed to take some time off to recharge!  But here I am, back and better than ever.   I took the time off to reflect on my blog and the content that I was sharing with all of you.  I didn’t feel special about me, and looking at thousands of pictures of beautiful models in designer dresses which obviously someone who is a reguIar working girl can’t afford, caused me to begin to question my outer beauty.   Lots of women can not style themselves after the top models because it just is not affordable. We need to be creative in how  we use or budget to get the most out of it.  I can’t be alone in this constant struggle!   I want to keep sharing with you my tips about how to stretch a budget to keep your outward appearance flawless.   If your parents or husband isn’t a millionare, stay tuned for many great tips and advice on how to present yourself with all the class and beauty for a fraction of the cost!

A special thank to Shabbyappple for the collaboration and the beautiful skirt you shared with me which was my inspiration for the current shoot.
