Being a curvy girl myself, I had to pay homage to this amazing addition to the fashion blogosphere. For years, curvy girls have felt left out of trends and have been told not to wear fitted clothes. But I want to break all these rules and show women of all shapes and sizes how to look work-appropriate and stylish. Also I just realized that my blog makes over-the-top girly wardrobe choices, like flower prints and girly pink colors, and this look is totally professional—if I worked at an office, this is what I would dress like. Best of all, this outfit shows off brands that you can easily find (and afford), like Rachel Roy, BCBG MaxAzria, Top Shop, Enzo Angiolini. Love yourself the way you are and dont be scared to try new things! Good luck my pretty ladies! XOXO
Have you ever discovered your mom’s closet when you were a little? Of course you did! Every girl loved to try on her mom’s nice dresses, big heels and dream that some day she will growp up to wear the same clothes. Now I still have some of my moms clothes that I love to wear from her closet. Also, I like to discover my digital “online”closet which is back in Russia. Sometimes I find clothes that I totally froget about, find nice accessories and the clothes look like they have never been worn! For example on this post I wanted to highlight this adorable wool vest by Morgan. This brand is not overly popular in the U.S. but moreso in Europe. I think it’s a perfect warm winter outfit and looks absolutely gorgeous with these Michael Kors hat and gloves and Ralph Lauren belt.
So open your closets, try on all your clothes, and change your outlook on your previously worn wardrobe. Engoy! XOXO
Happy New Year, my lovely readers! Sorry for being a little bit late, but a lady can allow herself a stylish entrance into the new year. It was a wonderful New Years Eve; everybody at the ball I attended looked beautiful and their dresses shined. I know, everybody has there own style, but I want to talk about how to stay a Lady in any situation.
“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
― Coco Chanel
Being a Lady means not only stylish and classy clothes, natural make-up and right length heels, but also good manners, kindness and knowledge of etiquette. What about myself; I’m not much of a risk taker. I don’t wear plunging necklesses or really short skirts. I dress in a sophisticated and classy way, I always dress in a way I know my mom would would approve of. I try to stay as classy as possible and provide a little mystery. I think women can be sexy in “covered” clothes. Less skin doesn’t mean less sexy’ it’s all our charisma. So this new year I wish you to be a girl with a mind, a woman with attitude, and a lady with class.
“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” ― Bob Marley
The summer 2013 was my first Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha IL. I want to tell you little bit about my experience.
Walk into the renaissance fair and you will feel like you are in an odd version of an Elizabethan village – dirt paths dotted with little shops, stores, food, beverages. It’s hard to grasp the full feeling of the dirt walkways, grassy fields, music in the air, performances all around and creatures that lurk beautifully around every corner, with just words alone. It truly is an experience all should spoil themselves with at some point in their lives. A wonderful place to people watch.
The food and shows at the faire are wonderful. Things that we cannot miss are the vegetable tempora, stewed mushrooms, gigantic turkey legs, and delicious sassafras.
The shops are always fun to go into – especially the weaponry and costume shops. You could spend a pretty penny to deck yourself out! Though if that special lady opted to wear and get into costume, the price is well worth some of those wench/warrior garbs!
It is perfectly acceptable to wear normal street clothes here, I’d venture to say probably half of the faire goers are wearing T shirt and jeans. BUT you will have more fun if you decide to play along – you will see people dressed in anything from full blown Elizabethan replicas, pixie fairy outfits, full knight gear including head to toe chain mail, steam punk outfits, wizards, belly dancers, gypsies, etc. It doesn’t really matter, part of the fun is escaping the modern world into something strange and wonderful. And if you don’t have a costume, that’s okay, there are many costume shops or you can rent for cheaper.
That day I had more antique greek style, but I loved it!
