To be honest with you, when Nunuco design Company reached out to me to collaborate, I knew nothing about them. So I went to www.nunucodesigncompany.com and checked them out; I was in shock! How could I not know about them all this time! As a blogger and just a regular girl, I love fancy phone cases, original notebooks and cards, especially if they are hand drawn.

Creative director Kristiina Kurkikangas’s designs show off a care-free use of different colors and themes with her own distinctive style. I was so impressed with her so imperfectly perfect art! it is so chic, positive and colorful.

Their current collection includes agendas, notebooks, greeting cards, notepads, passport holders and iPhone cases. I’m personally obsessed with the flower theme like the peonies iPhone case that I got from them. As we all know I do not promote things or companies if I don’t like them, and I would never recommend my followers low quality merchandise. I was happy to not only see that not only their website was beautifully designed but also the materials were very high quality.  I enjoyed every little thing that I received from the bottom of my heart! If you want to carry art with you in your purse, Nunuco Design Company the right place to shop for you!

Shopping is my sport.

IMG_8384

Hitting the mall needn’t just exercise your wallet; it can exercise your body as well. When you’re shopping, you burn calories getting to the store, walking through it, standing in line and carrying your purchases. Your calorie burn continues when you carry your purchases home and put them away. Your exact calorie burn will depend on your weight and what you do during your trip.

IMG_8374

Walking through the store at a leisurely 2 mph burns around 200 calories per hour for a 150-pound person, according to the University of Hawaii Nutrition website. If you are a power shopper and walk a little faster, your calorie burn will be higher. Each time you reach, stretch and bend to access merchandise, you burn a few more calories. You can burn more calories during your shopping trip by taking the stairs rather than the escalator or elevator. Shopping for three hours mall walking at 3.5 mph could result in a calorie expenditure of 750 calories for a 150-pound person.Researchers calculated that around three hours of shopping could help burn off the 495 calories in a Big Mac. Two hours could work off the 283 calories in a typical latte coffee.

Standing in line for assistance or to pay for your purchases burns more calories than sitting, but fewer than if you are moving. For each hour you spend standing in line at the store, expect to burn about 175 calories if you weigh 150 pounds. You can add to the calorie burn by fidgeting, stretching your muscles or marching in place while waiting.Although nine out of ten women surveyed said they wore trainers or comfortable shoes for a big shopping session, two thirds said they didn’t count it as a valid form of exercise.

I prefer big outlet malls. More shops are better! I love shop sales because it’s the smart kind of shopping! My next post will be about my favorite sales and the way you can spend less on luxury designer clothing! Stay tuned! Xoxo

Can moving make you happier?

I was always curious as to what others think about this issue. There are many people out there who become sick and tired of living in the same place for years and years, and eventually decide that they want to move to become happier, as if it will solve their problems for good.

IMG_9069

With parts of the United States approaching record snowfall this season, there are probably thousands of people at this very second questioning whether the bad weather is making them miserable. At first glance, it certainly seems like terrible weather should have a significant impact on emotional wellbeing. After all, who wants to freeze their toes off, shovel their car out from under the snow, and be stuck indoors for days on end? So, I ask, does moving to a new place usually solve one’s problems and make them happier?

IMG_9130

From my experience, the answer is yes. I was born in Russia, and since my childhood, I knew that I did’t belong there. Don’t get me wrong, I love the country where I was born and grew up. I’m thankful for all opportunities that it gave me, but sometimes you just don’t feel 100% happy. So after I moved to Chicago my happiness level increased but only for a short amount of time.

When I moved from Chicago to Florida, I knew I’d miss a lot of things about living on the Midwest. After all, I was leaving behind my friends, good memories, and my beloved city life. But if there was one part of leaving Chicago that I was most excited about, it was definitely the change in weather. You see, I’m not what you’d call a “winter person.” So when the time came to leave the snow and ice behind and settle in under some palm trees along the beach, it seemed like an easy trade to make.

The place where you are living doesn’t make us happy, but it helps when you move to a sunny, healthy, developing and clean place. Staying in the same space without change creates boredom and boredom is the beginning of all problems. Staying active and involved in the community and being open to other cultures helps with happiness levels. Moving to a new place away from a place that reminds you of bad experiences helps a lot. Change is the essence of life, look at yourself in the mirror and you will see life change everyday. Never forget, wherever you will go you will take yourself with you. Don’t move to run away from your problems, solve them first and start from the beginning! Good luck! xoxo

Goodbye, Chicago!

IMG_8890

Have you ever dreamed of starting a new life in the New Year?! Me too! Finally, my dream will come true this upcoming 2016! It is official now, we are moving to Florida! I’ve been so busy flying to Orlando and back to Chicago to explore the new city and hunting for the perfect apartment. Finally, we are all set, and we are looking forward to our new life in sunny Florida!

I will definitely miss Chicago… The beautiful skyline, shopping at Michigan avenue and endless restaurants and bars. We grow up and our priorities change. I felt like it’s time for change, that I am ready for something new and exciting. I decide to do what I always wanted, to live where I always wanted, and share all this with the people I love. Because life is not about how big the city you live in is, it’s about how you live your life.

“I am convinced that most people do not grow up…We marry and dare to have children and call that growing up. I think what we do is mostly grow old. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias.”
― Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter

I hope after reading this some people will be inspired for changes and making their dreams come true. Make New Year’s goals. Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year. This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you’re interested in fully living life in the year to come.

“We only live once, but once is enough if we do it right. Live your life with class, dignity, and style so that an exclamation, rather than a question mark signifies it!” – Gary Ryan Blair

Michael Kors announces the next chapter of the Michael Kors Collection fragrances: The Gold Collection. Each of the three individual scents was designed to reflect the opulence and luxury of the highly prized metal- from white, to 24K, to rose gold.

Why gold? Because it embodies the luxe glamour of the Michael Kors woman and has become a hallmark of Michael’s world- from lustrous fabrics and sun-kissed skin to high-shine hardware and gilded jewelry.

“There is nothing sexier than a woman with a beautiful glow after an amazing vacation- and nothing complements that glow better than shimmering gold jewelry and a hint of fragrance that feels just as opulent and glamorous.” – Michael Kors

Michael Kors The Gold Collection Fragrances

I am a big fan of Michael Kors in general, and I was very excited about the collaboration with such an amazing brand. Honestly, I never tried Michael Kors fragrance collections before. For the fall season, I chose for myself 24K Brilliant Gold and I was absolutely amazed. Citrus and wood scents make me fill so cozy, feminine and confident. Now I use it every day. It is suitable any season and occasion! If you are like me and never tried it before please give it a chance and  you will be satisfied. You can get it at any beauty store and www.MichaelKors.com
